Friday Favorites - 1.12.18

Welcome to the latest edition of the weekly Friday Favorites linkup that I participate in, hosted by bloggers Erika, Andrea and Narci!  TGIF!  The week went fast and here we are heading into another long holiday weekend.  Hooray!  Here’s what I named this week’s favorites…

It starts for sure with this awesome Mom hack!  The Binxy Baby shopping cart hammock was a game changer on our Target run.  Baby hung out in the hammock, I still had room to fill the cart and my hands were free to simply get only the very basic things I needed at Target (Yeah right, who ever leaves Target with only what they came for?!).  Baby actually had a blast strolling around Target in her hammock.  We love this gadget!

I’m excited about my new Book Bucket List that I found from a comment on another blog.  I’m still planning to read at least my 75-book goal this year, but now I’ve got a separate, fun challenge within my reading challenge.  The list includes things like, “Read a true story.  Read a book I own but haven’t read.  Read a cookbook and try one of the recipes in it…”  Click here for the full list, and join me on the challenge!

This month marked the 8th year anniversary of my girlfriends, Karen and Andrea, and I, doing dinner night once a month and I heart this tradition of ours!  This month was Andrea’s pick and she took us to My Mother's House Italian Restaurant.  It’s always a favorite to try new places.  This restaurant is hidden in the middle of Sun City Summerlin.  Check out the size of that Fruti di Mare.  Warning:  they say it’s good to share for 2 people.  It would literally feed a family of 6, it was that big!  (By the way, I did a post about our girls' night dinners and it's one of my most popular posts of 2017.  Check it out for some great restaurant recommendations in Las Vegas.)

It hasn’t felt like winter this year at all, with our consistent high 60’s and sunny days.  But this week, we got rain, snow at Mt. Charleston, and it finally felt a little more like winter.  I took the opportunity to bust out my favorite flannel sheets from Target.  How cute are the little cozy winter sayings all over them?

I usually don’t post books in this weekly recap because I review all the books I read at the end of every month, but this one you gotta know about now!  The Waiting is a true story about a mom who spends decades remembering the baby she gave up for adoption.  It was beautifully written and I love this quote from the Author’s note, “May we each live a tale that needs to be told. May we never stop with the telling.” I am so glad this family told their tale.  I basically cried through the whole book, so if you like that kind of thing, I highly recommend adding this to your “To Read” list.  Oh!  And this crosses off “Read a true story” from my new bucket list too!  Check!

Well, that’s it for the week, friends.  Have a great weekend full of making favorite memories.
