Friday Favorites 10.27.17

You know, sometimes the week seems to be dragging on but then before I know it, it’s already time for Friday Favorites!  Here I am again linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea sharing my favorite things from the past week.

It was my first time to the Las Vegas Book Festival last Saturday and if you didn’t know by now, books are my favorite.  I loved getting to choose some free books at the festival, visit the vendors and hear from several authors.  I was introduced to the kids book, Skippyjon Jones, by Judy Schachner, about a cat who thinks he's a Chihuahua.  It was so entertaining to hear that she gets her character inspiration from her family members and pets.  I was also so impressed that she, herself, illustrates all her picture books.  I had to get the book!  I’m sure it’ll be a favorite around here with the kiddos.

I was excited to have my favorite sweet and salty breakfast combo for dinner the other night.  Du-par’s in the Suncoast Casino (the original location downtown closed down) has the best and fluffiest pancakes in town.  The pancakes with french fries and their top notch ranch is my favorite!  Their ranch is so good it made my “best ranch in Las Vegas” list a few recipes posts ago.  My favorite breakfast combo never gets old. 

I’m still hooked on fruit slush drinks with honey boba.  Well, the folks at Taste Tea (Flamingo and 215 in Las Vegas) introduced me to their crystal boba in my Passionfruit slush the other day and it was indeed tasty.

My boys, Mochi and Kenzo, had some cute moments this week.  Mochi enjoying his birthday gifts (dental chew stick and basketball), and baby Kenzo having to be right near me all the time – basically on top of my laptop keyboard while I work.  They’re my favorite.

It was also my favorite to have all you can eat sushi with my niece/goddaughter to catch up and kickoff our weekend together.  We went to Sasa Sushi in Northwest Las Vegas and their salmon sashimi on this night was divine!
