Friday Favorites 8.18.17

Yay, TGIF!  It’s Friday Favorites time again.

First off, have you ladies seen this hair tie bracelet from Charming Charlie?  I know a lot of us wear a hair tie on our wrist, ready at all times for the sudden need to upsweep the hair, right?  It’s a silver bracelet (but they come in other colors) with a groove down the middle where the hair tie lies.  I love this with work outfits because I feel like just a hair tie around my wrist isn’t a very professional look, so here’s a way to be functional and jazz up that plain hair tie.  Genius, right?!  In the pic above, my cousin and I are showing them off and then, I noticed it in this recent work photo below.  See it?

I was giving a tour of our organization to our Nevada Congresswoman in work attire, of course.  After a big tour like that (and having to escort a campaign oppositional tracker off our site for the first time), a girl’s just gotta throw her hair into a pony!

Next, I’m naming the gourmet cinnamon roll from Cinnaholic a favorite this week.  This is the 100% vegan cinnamon roll as seen on Shark Tank, and there are two locations in Las Vegas now.  One is in Centennial, in the Walmart parking lot.  The other is in the Southwest, near Target on Flamingo and Grand Canyon.  It was literally a sweet treat when this cinnamon roll, with original frosting and topped with pecans, was delivered to me at work the other day.  It was so good!  Cinnaholic has a long list of frosting flavors and toppings to choose from, and you should try them out.

I watched the movie “Girls Trip” and it was exactly that – a trip!  I was laughing out loud at the things they get into, and then openly crying with emotion at the girls’ loyalty and friendships.  My favorite part was the nod to the movie, “Set it Off.”  Did you guys catch that part?  That was my favorite movie back in the day.  If you haven’t seen Girls Trip yet, grab your besties and make it a girls’ day.

How cute are these note cards and folder set I picked up at Target?  I love anything related to sushi, especially cute and functional things like this.  The taco, pizza, sushi stuff that Target has right now, had me at hello.  They’ve got cute sayings written on them… “Let’s taco bout it”, “A pizza my day”, and “How I roll!”  Can’t wait to use these.

My last featured favorite this week is the Snapseed app for editing photos.  I’ve had it on my phone forever but haven’t used it much until recently.  It’s got lots of typical tools like crop, rotate, vignette, and text.  It’s the Snapseed filters that move me though.  Scroll down from ‘Tools’ in the editor to find the filters like lens blur, drama, grunge, HDR, and lots of other choices.

Check out the before and after of my shot of Pike Place Market the other day:

Speaking of Pike Place Market, the second part of my "Things I love in Seattle" photo tour will be coming next week.  Stay tuned for that, and if you missed Part I, click here.  Happy Friday!
