Friday Favorites 9.8.17

It’s time for another edition of Friday Favorites!  I gotta say, I’ve been enjoying this weekly themed post.  I find myself being more aware of things I'm doing, or using, that are going to rank as my favorite each week.  I especially enjoy sharing them with you and then hearing about someone trying out a new product, and other positive reactions.  So fun!

So here we go, another week of favorites…

My littlest love (my youngest godson, Caleb) turned 6 months old on 9/3/17.  It’s my favorite to be his personal photographer.  We were caught in action at his latest photo shoot - me behind my camera while he posed for me.  Some of my favorite head shots I took that day...

I made sure to wear my necklace from my littlest love on his 6 month birthday.  Caleb and his mommy - my BFF Genel - gave me this for my birthday and of course it’s my favorite.  It’s a pendant that usually says Godmother but even better is that she was able to change it to say "Ninang" which is what my godkids call me (it means godmother in Filipino), and it has Caleb’s name and his March birthstone as separate charms with it.  Isn’t it just precious?  Genel shared where she got it so I could share it with all of you:  here’s the link!  It's a lovely gift idea.

This snack has been on repeat at my house all summer, thanks to my other bestie, Megahn.  She packed it on a picnic recently and I was hooked.  I’ve always loved Boursin cheese (highly recommend) but this Dalmatia Fig Spread is my new favorite (available at Smith's).  I like to eat them together on a wheat thin. 

Speaking of snacks, we made indoor s’mores in the oven on Tuesday night.  It was fun and really yummy.  Two lil girls couldn’t even wait until they were baked to taste them!

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for the football season to start back up.  It’s finally here!  Fantasy Football with friends and co-workers is already a favorite and it is only Week 1.  Ahem, might have something to do with my rookie Running Back Kareem Hunt scoring 40 points for me last night when the Chiefs beat the Patriots.  Ahh, that’s just a good night of football!

Last but not least is my most favorite kitchen investment.   My Cuisinart ice cream maker!  I bought this years ago and it continues to be a hit!  My goddaughters have been using it every weekend lately with different flavors and mix-ins.  Fresh, delicious ice cream in about 20 minutes!  Prior to owning this, I wasn’t even a French vanilla fan because #boring but making French vanilla at home tastes so much better.  It’s the best for when all the girls want different toppings and lately we’ve been eating it with freshly baked brownies.  Also, here’s my tip, I’ve seen it at Bed Bath & Beyond but I got the best deal at Costco at the start of the summer for half the price.  I’d keep an eye out for it there.

The French vanilla recipe we use is courtesy of Ben & Jerry’s:

Whisk 2 large eggs until fluffy, then slowly pour in ¾ cup sugar
Add:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Mix well and pour into the ice cream maker
